In a recent interview, former football star Emmanuel Adebayor shared the surprising reason he opted to play for Togo instead of Ghana, despite the opportunity to represent Ghana at the junior level. Growing up, Adebayor excelled as a captain at various levels, but when he joined Ghana’s junior national team camp, language became a major barrier.
