Nollywood actor and media personality Tobi Bakre has advised young and aspiring actors to prioritise diligence and professionalism if they want to build lasting careers in the industry. The Brotherhood star said many people miss out on life changing opportunities because they fail to consistently put in the work or approach the craft with the right attitude.
Bakre, who rose to prominence after his stint on Big Brother Naija and has since featured in several hit films and series, stressed that talent alone is not enough. He explained that producers and directors are more likely to rehire actors who show up on time, respect everyone on set, and deliver their roles with dedication, even when conditions are tough.
The AMVCA winning actor urged young performers to treat every job as an audition for the next one by maintaining high standards in all their engagements. He also encouraged them to stay humble, keep learning, and focus on growth rather than chasing quick fame.
Bakre noted that his own journey from reality TV to becoming one of Nollywood’s leading action stars was built on hard work, openness to training and a willingness to “get his hands dirty” on every project. He said that mindset continues to guide him as he takes on more demanding roles and responsibilities in film and television.
