“I Was Very Scared” – Insider Reveals Osimhen’s Unexpected Call to Galatasaray Board Member

Article arrow_drop_down

Galatasaray insider Emre Kaplan has shared intriguing details of a recent interaction between Victor Osimhen and Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. Manager İbrahim Hatipoglu, shedding light on the brief moment of panic it caused within the club.

The Nigerian international striker, who has been in stellar form during his loan spell at Galatasaray, attempted to reach Hatipoglu while the executive was away from Istanbul attending to private matters. According to Kaplan, Osimhen’s unexpected call left Hatipoglu startled and sparked curiosity among club officials.

“Victor Osimhen wants to reach Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş. Manager İbrahim Hatipoglu. İbrahim Hatipoglu is not in Istanbul at the time because he has a private business,” Kaplan revealed, as quoted by habersarikirmizi.com .

“Osimhen wants to reach him by phone and İbrahim Hatipoglu says, ‘I was very scared when I saw Osimhen calling.’ He says, ‘I wonder if there was an offer or if something happened? We are always waiting. Oh no.’”

The suspense was short-lived, however, as Hatipoglu returned to Istanbul and met with Osimhen in person. Contrary to fears of a potential transfer request or professional concern, the Napoli-owned forward had a personal favor to ask.

“When İbrahim Hatipoglu’s work is finished and he comes to Istanbul, they meet and Osimhen says, ‘My nephews have come, there is an infrastructure problem, can you provide the opportunity?’” Kaplan recounted.

Hatipoglu reportedly relaxed immediately upon hearing the nature of Osimhen’s request, responding, “No problem at all.”

The revelation highlights Osimhen’s humility and close relationship with the club, even amid intense speculation about his future. The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for Galatasaray this season, scoring 29 goals and providing six assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

With his loan deal set to expire on June 30, 2025, Osimhen’s future remains a hot topic, with top European clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Juventus reportedly showing interest. However, this latest story underscores that beyond the headlines, Osimhen’s focus extends beyond the pitch to personal and familial matters.
