Angry youths in Sarkin Noma, Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, staged a major protest after a night attack left two men dead and one elderly resident abducted. The attack happened between 11:30 p.m. and midnight, when suspected armed herders invaded the community, shooting sporadically.
Eyewitnesses reported that around fifty armed men carried out the raid. Youths in the community tried to defend themselves, but two were killed during the confrontation. The attackers also kidnapped an elderly resident, whose condition remains unknown.
Community leaders say this is the twelfth attack in recent times, leaving residents frightened and angry. Many are at risk, especially those returning home at night. The attackers are believed to target people for ransom.
To protest the ongoing violence, the youths took the bodies of the victims to the Lafia–Makurdi highway, blocking traffic and demanding urgent government action.
The police responded by sending security operatives to the scene. Residents say the area needs stronger security and better protection to prevent further attacks.

Army arrests 10 terror suspects, rescues kidnap victims in North Central
The Nigerian Army says its troops have arrested 10 suspected terrorists and rescued kidnapped victims in recent operations across North Central states. The operations were carried out under various internal security deployments aimed at tackling banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes in the region. Trump to feature his picture in new US passports
The United States will begin issuing a limited number of new passports that include a picture of President Donald Trump inside the booklet, officials have confirmed. The design is part of a special edition created to mark the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence in July. According to the State Department, the commemorative passports will show Trump’s official portrait on an inside page alongside imagery of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
