Lagos Police Arrest Suspect in Cross-State Murder Case
Lagos State Police detectives have arrested Abubakar Iliyasu , 32, in connection with the murder of Mrs. Jane Okoye , 65, in Orile-Iganmu, Lagos. The suspect was apprehended in Ankpa, Kogi State , following a collaborative manhunt led by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) .

Crime Details
On April 2 , Iliyasu allegedly broke into Okoye’s residence, attacked her, and stole her Toyota Sienna vehicle and personal belongings. The victim was found unconscious and later died at a hospital.

Swift Cross-State Action
Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that SCID detectives tracked Iliyasu to Kogi State, recovered the stolen vehicle, and detained him. The suspect is currently assisting investigators.

Police Pledge Justice
Lagos Police Commissioner Olohunde Jimoh vowed to prosecute Iliyasu thoroughly:

“We will ensure justice for Mrs. Okoye. This arrest reflects our unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property in Lagos.”
