Governor Radda Named Best Performing Governor of 2025
Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda has been named the Best Performing Governor of the Year 2025 by Aso Multimedia .
The award was presented at a vibrant ceremony held in Abuja on June 13 , recognising his transformative leadership across key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and economic empowerment .
The award highlights Radda’s growing reputation as a reform-driven leader committed to meaningful change.
Award Accepted on Behalf of the People of Katsina
Governor Radda was unable to attend the event in person. His absence was explained by his chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula , who said the award was accepted by:
- Hajiya Hadiza Yar’adua , Commissioner for Women Affairs
- Alhaji Umar Bishir Ibrahim , Director General of Protocol
In his stead, the Governor dedicated the award to the people of Katsina — especially women, youth, civil servants, and community leaders whose support he described as vital to progress.
“This award belongs to every hardworking citizen of Katsina.”
Governance Rooted in Compassion and Accountability
Speaking while accepting the award, Hajiya Hadiza praised the Governor’s governance model, described as one built on compassion, accountability , and people-centered service delivery .
She highlighted several flagship initiatives under the Radda administration, including:
- Community Development Project (CDP) – a grassroots programme that allows communities to set their own development priorities
- 30% affirmative action policy for women’s inclusion in decision-making
- Massive investments in women’s grants, goat-rearing schemes , and maternal health services
- Upgrading of primary healthcare centres and construction of a new specialist hospital with modern diagnostic tools
Transforming Agriculture and Education
In agriculture, the state government launched large-scale irrigation projects and distributed thousands of tonnes of fertiliser to farmers .
A modern tractor assembly plant has also been established, positioning Katsina as a hub for mechanised farming.
On education, over 7,000 new teachers have been recruited through the S-Power scheme , and more than 54,000 students now benefit from free WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB registrations , removing financial barriers to secondary education.
Boosting Security and Infrastructure
Security in Katsina has seen major improvements, thanks to the launch of the Katsina Community Watch Corps , which has trained and deployed over 1,500 operatives .
Modern security vehicles and equipment have also been provided to frontline communities to combat banditry.
The government has invested heavily in road networks and rural infrastructure, significantly improving connectivity and transportation across the state.
“Good Governance Is Possible” – Acceptance Statement
Hajiya Hadiza reiterated that the award is proof that good governance is achievable when leaders engage citizens, plan effectively, and act in public interest.
“This is a victory for every mother, youth, and civil servant who believes in our shared dream for a better Katsina.”
The award ceremony was attended by dignitaries from government, media, business , and civil society , all of whom acknowledged Radda’s steady leadership and results-driven approach.

Audit Exposes GHS427m Payroll Scandal at Defence Ministry
A shocking audit report has uncovered a massive payroll scandal involving a senior government official who allegedly received over GHS427 million in unearned salaries over 29 months. Grandpas arrested for drug trafficking in Abia, Ekiti
