Segun, a former West African light-heavyweight champion, had been engaged in an intense and competitive bout when he suddenly collapsed in the ring.

Eyewitnesses quickly alerted the referee, trainers, and medical staff, who rushed to his aid. Despite efforts to revive him, Segun was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital. While the exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed, it is believed to be related to a cardiac issue.
