Article arrow_drop_down

Ghanaian businessman Daniel McKorley, popularly known as McDan, has shared a powerful message about his rise to wealth, shedding light on the misconceptions many young people have about success. In a candid interview with Kumasi-based Luv FM, McDan, the founder and CEO of the McDan Group of Companies, spoke about his humble beginnings and the importance of hard work.

Reflecting on his earlier life, McDan revealed that he started by selling kerosene and the popular street snack, bofrot, in the La area of Greater Accra. Despite the challenges of those early days, McDan emphasized that many wealthy individuals have achieved their success through perseverance and hard work—not through dishonest means, as is often assumed on social media.

McDan also expressed concern over the negative perception of successful people, particularly young individuals who often question how someone can go from selling goods on the street to building an empire. He also shared a personal story of teaching his son the value of hard work, saying he had his son work as a security guard to understand the struggles faced by people with lower incomes.

McDan’s journey serves as a reminder that with dedication and determination, it’s possible to overcome any obstacle and achieve great success.
