Relationship influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has been accused of fraudulently doctoring a cancer survivor’s medical report to support her claim of having stage 4 breast cancer. The allegation was made by Deborah Mbara, a mother of four and breast cancer survivor based in Asaba, Delta State.
Mbara says Blessing requested a copy of her histology report last year, claiming she wanted to compare it with her own diagnosis as a fellow patient. According to her, she later discovered that the influencer had edited and used the document to raise donations from Nigerians after posting a viral tearful video announcing a stage 4 cancer diagnosis and shaving her hair.
The Nigerian Medical Association, Delta State chapter, has now confirmed that the report linked to Blessing CEO is a doctored version of Mbara’s original result. In a statement signed by the state chairman and secretary, the NMA explained that Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Asaba actually issued the histology report on May 9, 2025, for a patient named Mbara Deborah, not Blessing Okoro.
The association said the authentic report, currently being circulated by the law firm Allen Juris Law, is the one bearing Mbara’s name, while the version presented by Blessing is an altered copy of the same test. It warned the public to be guided accordingly, stressing that the diagnostic centre never issued any cancer result to Blessing CEO.
In her video, Mbara appealed to Nigerians to stop associating her with the alleged scam, insisting she “knows nothing” about Blessing’s fundraising and is not part of any plan to defraud the public. Online, anger has mounted, with many Nigerians calling for Blessing’s arrest, prosecution and the refund of all donations reportedly received from the public over the controversial cancer claim.
