Big Brother Naija 2023 All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has been hospitalised after allegedly being assaulted by her father, prompting the Federal Capital Territory Police Command to arrest him. The disturbing incident followed a midnight distress call from the family’s residence in the Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja.
In a statement on Saturday, FCT police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh said officers responded to a report at about 12:00 a.m. on May 9, 2026, about an ongoing physical assault on Ilebaye by her father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya. A patrol team from Wuye Division, backed by operatives from the Department of Operations and the Police Public Relations Officer, was immediately deployed to the location.
Upon arrival, officers initially met the gate to the residence locked and experienced a standoff before eventually gaining access at about 2:30 a.m. Ilebaye was found with visible bruises and was rescued alongside her brothers, after which they were all rushed to NNPC Hospital, Abuja, for medical attention.
The police confirmed that Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody while a thorough investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the alleged assault. The case has sparked widespread outrage and concern on social media, especially as it came hours after Ilebaye appeared in a highly emotional Instagram Live video seemingly crying out for help during an altercation at home.
Clips of the livestream, which circulated widely online, showed the reality TV star distressed and apparently being confronted by men in the background, prompting fans and advocates to call for urgent intervention. Since news of the police rescue broke, supporters and fellow celebrities have been sending messages of solidarity and demanding justice and better protection for victims of domestic violence.
The FCT Police Command has assured the public that it is treating the matter as a serious case of alleged domestic violence and will ensure that due process is followed. Authorities also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified narratives while investigations and legal procedures are ongoing.Big Brother Naija 2023 All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, has been hospitalised after allegedly being assaulted by her father, prompting the Federal Capital Territory Police Command to arrest him.
