Marwa urges stronger intelligence sharing to fight insecurity

Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Buba Marwa has called for closing key intelligence gaps as a central step in tackling Nigeria’s worsening insecurity. He spoke at the Army War College Nigeria Interagency Seminar in Abuja, where he warned that the country faces a complex mix of threats, including insurgency and terrorism in the North East, farmer herder clashes in the North West and North Central, secessionist agitations in the South East, and organised crime and drug trafficking in the South South and South West. Northern youths back NASS on pipeline security deal

Northern youths under the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum have praised the National Assembly joint committee on Petroleum Resources for endorsing the pipeline surveillance contract handled by Tantita Security Services. AYCF president Yerima Shettima said in a statement that the parliament’s decision to dismiss petitions against Tantita and support the continuation and possible expansion of its contract is patriotic and should be commended by all Nigerians. DJAN denies banning Burna Boy songs

The Deejays Association of Nigeria has denied reports that it ordered a ban on Burna Boy’s songs after his recent clash with DJ Tunez. In a statement on Thursday, DJAN national president Prince Akim Edeh described the reports as false and misleading and warned media outlets to stop spreading them. Iran insists on right to enrich uranium in talks

Iran’s nuclear chief has insisted that Tehran will keep its right to enrich uranium in any future peace talks with the United States. US pulls some embassy staff from Nigeria over insecurity

In a travel advisory issued on Wednesday, the department urged American citizens to reconsider travelling to Nigeria from April 8 2026 due to crime, terrorism, kidnapping, civil unrest and limited healthcare services. Nigeria has been placed at Level 3 Reconsider Travel, while 23 states are now listed under Level 4 Do Not Travel. The advisory newly added Plateau, Jigawa, Kwara, Niger and Taraba to the Level 4 list. They join other high risk northern areas such as Borno, Yobe, Kogi and northern Adamawa where terrorism and kidnapping remain a serious threat.
