The Super Eagles forward had arrived at the Metropolitano on a high following a standout performance in the Copa del Rey. Lookman thought he had equalised just before halftime when he rose to head the ball into the net, but the effort was ruled out for a marginal offside after a review. The decision proved costly as Atletico could not find a way back into the match. Despite receiving a yellow card in the 56th minute for a tactical foul, he remained one of Atletico’s brightest attacking outlets until he was substituted in the 74th minute. Manchester City can close the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal to three points when they host Fulham on Wednesday, a day before the Gunners visit in form Brentford. The Senate held a tense and rowdy plenary on Tuesday as lawmakers revisited last Wednesday’s decision on a key clause in the Electoral Act amendment bill. The uproar followed moves to alter the provision on electronic transmission of election results. Trouble began when Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno, citing Orders 1(b) and 52(6) of the Senate Standing Orders 2023, asked the chamber to rescind its earlier decision on Clause 60(3) of the bill.
