President John Dramani Mahama has said Ghana’s democracy depends on a strong, responsible media that is not afraid to hold those in power to account and give the public a voice. YEA signs MoU with Fire Service to recruit 5000 assistants 

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has signed a one-year agreement with the Ghana National Fire Service to recruit 5,000 young people as Fire Assistants across the country. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on Friday, May 3, 2025, forms part of efforts to tackle youth unemployment and boost fire safety operations nationwide. In a press statement the YEA said the initiative aims to support job creation while partnering with state institutions to enhance public safety. Under the agreement, the Ghana National Fire Service will handle the training and supervision of the recruits, who are expected to be deployed to various regions upon completion of their training. The recruitment process, including eligibility requirements and timelines, has not yet been announced. Ghanaian student dies under suspicious circumstances at Indian university

A Ghanaian student at Andhra University in India has died under suspicious circumstances, prompting concerns from both university officials and the Ghanaian diplomatic mission.The deceased, identified as 29-year-old Ivan Obeng Lartey, was a first-year Business Management student and one of 30 Ghanaian nationals currently enrolled at the university. He was residing in Room 401 of the YMCA hostel located on Beach Road. Health Minister inaugurates boards of key health institutions, demands reform and accountability

The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has inaugurated newly constituted boards of several key health institutions across the country and called for accountability, integrity, and measurable results in their operations. New Ghana Armed Forces CDS William Agyapong promoted to rank of Lieutenant General

The new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), Major General William Agyapong has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, a Three-Star General level. Police rescue 2 women in viral kidnapping video, 8 arrested in Ghana-Nigeria joint operation
