The MP for Afigya Kwabre North, Collins Adomako‑Mensah, mourns the death of aspiring nurse Peggy Ayelbassah, who was tragically killed in an armed robbery attack en route to a nursing college admission interview.

On July 26, 2025, residents of Denase in the Ashanti Region were shocked after an armed attack on a vehicle killed two people, including Peggy Ayelbassah, and injured three others. Peggy was heading to Salaga for an admission interview at a nursing training college when she was gunned down.
MP Collins Adomako‑Mensah confirmed the incident in a heartfelt Facebook post, noting that Peggy had contacted him via WhatsApp just a day prior to the attack.
Eyewitnesses described the shooting as chaotic, with at least 14 rounds fired, sparking panic in the community. The Unit Committee Chairman suggested the shooting appeared targeted—not a random robbery.
The three survivors are currently receiving treatment at Offinso Saint Patrick Hospital.
