Nigeria Unveils Kits As 92 Young Athletes Set For CAA Championships
Team Nigeria is ready for action at the 3rd Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U18 and U20 Championships , which kick off on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State .
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) officially unveiled the competition kits for the 92 athletes selected to represent the country.
They will compete in various track and field events, with Nigeria aiming to secure top positions in both the U18 and U20 categories.
This event brings together young talents from across Africa, giving Nigerian youth a platform to shine on home soil.
AFN Unveils Official Kit Ahead of Championship Kickoff
The AFN made the kit announcement ahead of the championship’s opening ceremony, ensuring all athletes are fully prepared for competition.
Coaches, officials, and team leaders have completed final preparations, with high hopes that this tournament will unearth fresh talent for future global competitions.
“We are proud of our young athletes,” said an AFN spokesperson.
“This is their moment to show what Nigeria can do.”
Competition Begins Wednesday in Abeokuta
The 3rd CAA U18 and U20 Athletics Championships will run from Wednesday through Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State .
With over 90 young athletes representing Nigeria, the delegation includes:
- Sprinters
- Jumpers
- Throwers
- Middle-distance runners
They will compete in disciplines such as:
- 100m, 200m, 400m
- High jump, long jump
- Shot put, javelin, discus
- Steeplechase and relays
The championships serve as a talent incubator for future Olympians and African champions.

Audit Exposes GHS427m Payroll Scandal at Defence Ministry
A shocking audit report has uncovered a massive payroll scandal involving a senior government official who allegedly received over GHS427 million in unearned salaries over 29 months. Supreme Court judgment: Rivers ADC shifts focus to winning 2027 polls
The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress says it is now fully focused on winning the 2027 general elections after a Supreme Court judgment restored the party’s David Mark led national leadership.
