Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has clarified that she does not want to be described as a “single mum”, insisting that she is a single woman raising two children.
In a post shared via her Instagram stories, the estranged wife of music star 2Baba wrote: “I’m not a single mum. I’m a single woman raising two kids,” drawing a clear line between her marital status and how her motherhood is labelled.
Her statement comes in the wake of her much publicised split from 2Baba, with the actress increasingly asserting her identity by using her maiden name and correcting platforms that still attach her ex husband’s surname to her.
Annie’s choice of words has sparked mixed reactions online, as some critics accuse her of merely playing with semantics, while others defend her right to define herself in a way that reflects her personal journey and reality.
She has, however, maintained that beyond any label, her focus remains on raising her children and rebuilding her life and career on her own terms.

Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu has denied claims that he disrespected the Olubadan of Ibadanland, describing the allegation as false, malicious and aimed at damaging his reputation.
