US Attacks Iranian Coastal Sites After Iran Launches Drones in Latest Flare-Up

The Nigerian Air Force has pledged its full commitment to the safe rescue of all pupils, students and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The pledge came as federal and state security agencies intensified rescue operations in the affected forest areas.

The Defence Headquarters confirmed that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has ordered the deployment of special forces and aerial surveillance assets to Oyo State to support ongoing rescue efforts and restore security in the affected communities.

Intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance, community engagement and search-and-rescue operations are continuing without interruption, security officials disclosed. Ongoing operations have already generated actionable intelligence while troops intensified efforts to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the victims.

The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has deployed additional detectives from Force Headquarters to collaborate with a joint security team on the ground. The Defence Headquarters also assured that the Armed Forces are deploying all necessary resources to secure the safe return of the abducted victims.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of every resource at the government’s disposal, including a specialised rescue team, to rescue the victims. The government has declared the safe return of all the children and teachers as a national priority, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring their release.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has also assured residents that his administration is working tirelessly to secure the release of all abducted persons, noting that the rescue operation remains active and involves sensitive security considerations.
