Une campagne électorale vivante sur tout le territoire
La campagne pour les élections municipales du 17 juillet bat son plein à travers le Togo. Partout, les candidats s’activent : meetings, porte-à-porte, présentations de programmes, caravanes citoyennes… La scène politique locale est en effervescence.
Qu’ils soient issus de la majorité ou de l’opposition, les candidats s’affrontent à armes égales dans les urnes, dans un esprit de compétition démocratique.
Une démocratie enracinée dans les territoires
Ce dynamisme électoral démontre une chose essentielle : la démocratie togolaise n’est pas un concept abstrait. Elle se vit, se construit, se consolide au niveau local, là où les citoyens attendent des réponses concrètes à leurs besoins quotidiens.
Car c’est dans les mairies que se concrétisent les politiques publiques : routes, écoles, assainissement, sécurité de proximité. Donner une voix à toutes les sensibilités politiques nourrit le vivre-ensemble et la légitimité des institutions.
Un démenti aux discours alarmistes
Certains, éloignés du terrain ou motivés par des intérêts politiques, continuent d’agiter l’idée d’une confiscation du pouvoir par le régime. Pourtant, les faits sont là : les principaux partis d’opposition sont bel et bien engagés dans la course électorale, avec des candidats investis, des campagnes actives, et une présence dans toutes les régions.
Peut-on parler de régime autoritaire dans un pays où l’opposition débat, propose et mobilise librement ? La pluralité politique en action est une réponse concrète à ces critiques souvent déconnectées de la réalité togolaise.
Un rendez-vous républicain, pas un simple vote
Au-delà du vote lui-même, ces élections municipales sont un test de maturité démocratique. Elles permettent aux citoyens de sanctionner ou récompenser localement, de choisir des projets et des hommes de terrain, en toute liberté.
Elles envoient également un message fort : celui d’un Togo résolument tourné vers l’avenir, où le débat est ouvert, les institutions fonctionnelles, et la démocratie participative en progression.
Conclusion : Servir, convaincre, respecter
Il appartient désormais à chaque acteur politique :
- De convaincre les électeurs avec des idées concrètes,
- De respecter les règles du jeu démocratique,
- Et surtout, d’œuvrer pour l’intérêt général une fois les élections passées.
Car c’est ainsi que l’on bâtit un État fort, une citoyenneté active, et une confiance durable dans les institutions.

Togo : améliorer la traçabilité pour conquérir les marchés
Le manque de traçabilité des produits agroalimentaires togolais freine leur accès aux marchés internationaux. Pour y remédier, la Haute Autorité de la Qualité et de l’Environnement (HAUQE) a lancé mardi à Lomé une formation de trois jours destinée aux TPME du secteur, avec le soutien de la GIZ via le programme ProComp. L’objectif est d’accompagner ces entreprises dans la certification de leurs produits et la mise en place de systèmes de traçabilité efficaces, incluant l’identification des lots et le suivi des flux de production. Cette démarche vise à renforcer la confiance des consommateurs et à faciliter l’accès durable aux marchés extérieurs. Le programme ProComp (Programme pour l’Amélioration de la Compétitivité du Secteur Privé au Togo) soutient ces initiatives pour améliorer la performance et la compétitivité des entreprises locales.

Face aux effets croissants du changement climatique, le Togo cherche à renforcer la résilience de son agriculture grâce à des partenariats public-privé. C’est le message central d’une concertation tenue mardi à Lomé en collaboration avec la FAO. La rencontre a réuni responsables publics et acteurs privés autour de la stratégie nationale pour mobiliser le secteur privé dans des investissements agricoles climato-résilients et développer des partenariats efficaces. Togo : lancement d’une campagne nationale contre la polio
Une campagne nationale de vaccination contre la poliomyélite a été lancée au Togo, visant les enfants âgés de 0 à 5 ans, rapporte Le Messager du mercredi 17 mars 2026. Cette opération gratuite s’inscrit dans une riposte sanitaire urgente après la détection, le 20 février dernier, d’un cas de poliovirus de type 2 dans le district sanitaire de Mô, dans la région Centrale. Les autorités sanitaires mettent tout en œuvre pour éviter la propagation de ce virus hautement contagieux et protéger les enfants du pays.
