Senator Ned Nwoko has emphasized his desire for his wife, Regina Daniels, to be alive and healthy, insisting she undergo rehabilitation for drug reasons in order to properly raise their children. Nwoko revealed in an interview that a series of alarming toxicology results and her changed behavior—marked by violence and health crises—prompted his stance.
He shared that Regina has suffered multiple drug overdoses within the past eight months, resulting in urgent trips to the hospital. Nwoko said, “I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children. We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight for themselves, so I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother.”
Presenting toxicology evidence, the lawmaker argued that anyone advising Regina to avoid rehab is against her well-being. He accused her brother and friends of enabling her alleged addiction and thwarting efforts for her recovery by smuggling in substances.
Nwoko also addressed counterclaims by Regina’s family denying drug abuse allegations, calling these distractions. He challenged them to support an independent toxicology exam at any hospital, at his expense.
The ongoing crisis surfaced publicly after Regina Daniels accused Nwoko of assault, declared her exit from the marriage, and cited abuse. Nwoko denied the assault, attributing her struggles to addiction and promising to continue seeking proper care for her.
