NAF Warns Against Fraudulent 2025 Recruitment Claims
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has issued a strong warning to the public to ignore fake recruitment messages circulating online, which falsely claim the NAF has begun enlistment for the 2025/2026 Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) and Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) .
In a statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame , the NAF said it has not commenced any recruitment exercise for this year’s enlistment.
“These messages are fraudulent and misleading. The NAF recruitment process is free, transparent, and merit-based.”
He urged Nigerians to avoid falling for online scams that exploit job seekers and target unsuspecting youth.
“No Recruitment Exercise Is Ongoing” – NAF
The NAF clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment or enlistment process for the 2025/2026 cycle .
“Whenever recruitment begins, it will be officially announced,” Ejodame said.
He added that the NAF will make all official announcements through verified channels , including:
- NAF official website
- NAF’s verified social media platforms
- Credible national newspapers
“We do not charge fees. We do not use third parties. We do not recruit through fake messages.”
He urged the public to report any suspicious messages to the NAF or the appropriate authorities.
NAF Recruitment Is Free and Merit-Based
The Nigerian Air Force reiterated that its recruitment process is completely free and based solely on merit, eligibility, and national standards .
“The NAF does not engage agents or third parties in our recruitment process,” he said.
He reminded citizens that any recruitment exercise will be transparent and widely announced .
“We are committed to integrity and service delivery,” Ejodame added.
He encouraged young Nigerians to prepare for future enlistment opportunities by meeting the required physical and academic standards.
Public Urged To Follow Official Channels for Updates
Air Commodore Ejodame urged Nigerians to follow only official communication channels for updates on NAF recruitment.
“Do not rely on unverified social media posts or unknown websites.”
He listed the official platforms where the NAF shares all recruitment and enlistment updates:
- NAF official website
- NAF verified social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
- NAF press releases via national media
“This helps prevent misinformation and protects our youth from exploitation.”
