Veteran actress Fausat Balogun, popularly known as Madam Saje, has explained why she enjoys attending parties, especially events organised by younger actors.
In an interview with African A List, she said she often gets criticised for going to many parties but attends them out of genuine support for others.
Madam Saje recalled that in the past she organised her own event and invited many people, yet only a few showed up. That experience, she said, made her determined to always show up for others so they do not feel ignored.
She noted that younger and up and coming actors are sometimes overlooked when they host events, so she makes an effort to attend their parties to encourage them and recognise their efforts.
The actress also reflected on her tough early years in the industry, revealing that she once stole food just to survive and acted in several films without being paid.
Madam Saje stressed that every profession has its own challenges and that the entertainment industry is no different.
She advised young people not to rush or try to outrun their destiny, urging them instead to be patient, work hard and wait for their time to shine.
