The Kremlin has said Russia is ready to hold as many rounds of talks with the United States as necessary on the war in Ukraine following recent high-level contacts between the two countries.
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that no single meeting could solve all issues, but stressed that Moscow was prepared to continue discussions if Washington showed “political will” to seek a settlement.
Peskov repeated Russia’s position that any negotiations must take account of what it calls “new realities on the ground”, a reference to Ukrainian territories claimed and occupied by Russian forces.
He also argued that the involvement of the US and other Western states in supplying weapons to Kyiv was prolonging the conflict, while insisting that Moscow remained open to dialogue on security guarantees and broader stability in Europe.
The comments come amid renewed diplomatic activity over Ukraine, although Kyiv has maintained that any lasting peace will require the full withdrawal of Russian troops from its internationally recognised territory.
