New App Aims To Fight Fake News and Empower Content Creators
A Nigerian tech startup, iShot-It App Integrated , has launched an innovative mobile application aimed at tackling fake news and misinformation —while also rewarding users who create original content.
The app was officially unveiled at a launch event in Abuja on Tuesday , where founder JohnBull N. Igwe described it as a game-changer for digital credibility and citizen journalism.
“Fake news and misinformation are twin problems that have caused serious reputational damage in our digital space,” Igwe said.
“With iShot-It, we’re giving people a tool to own their truth and share verified stories.”
How iShot-It Works
At its core, the iShot-It app captures photos and videos with built-in geolocation data, date, and time stamps . This creates a digital seal of authenticity that cannot be altered or forged.
This feature makes it ideal for:
