Veteran Nigerian television host Frank Edoho has denied serious allegations made by his estranged wife Sandra Onyenucheya and threatened to take legal action against her.
The controversy erupted after a leaked audio recording surfaced on social media alleging an extramarital relationship between Onyenucheya and popular singer Chike. Edoho confirmed in May 2026 that his marriage to the entrepreneur had ended in separation in mid-2025 and that divorce proceedings were ongoing.
In her explosive social media statement Onyenucheya denied certain allegations and made serious claims against the veteran TV host including infidelity emotional distress and financial exploitation during their marriage. However leaked audio conversations appear to confirm that she was indeed having an affair with Chike between 2020 and 2026 before her separation from Edoho.
Edoho stated that the infidelity allegations were a major factor in the breakdown of their marriage. He expressed that he had lived through the divorce privately for almost two years and had since made peace with it emotionally. The broadcaster said he is well and has no intention of being in a committed relationship again.
Onyenucheya strongly denied the allegations of infidelity claiming her relationship with Chike was strictly professional and friendship-based having commenced well after her separation from Edoho. However the audio leaks confirmed the affair took place before separation.
In a series of counter-statements Onyenucheya leveled reciprocal accusations against Edoho alleging a pattern of physical abuse financial exploitation and chronic infidelity during their marriage. Edoho largely declined to publicly litigate the specific counter-claims in detail expressing a preference to remain single moving forward.
The TV host contested the claims stating that his ex-wife’s alleged relationship with singer Chike was what led to the collapse of the marriage. Edoho initially attempted to salvage the relationship for the sake of their children despite allegedly discovering evidence of the affair.
Social media users are heavily divided over the accusations and counter-accusations of infidelity and financial exploitation between the estranged couple. Both parties have indicated they will handle the matter through legal channels.
