Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape in the United Kingdom. The new charges relate to one woman and date back to an incident alleged to have occurred in 2020.
Police said the alleged offence was reported in August 2025. Partey, now 32 and playing for Spanish club Villarreal, is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 to answer the fresh charges.
In September, he pleaded not guilty at Southwark Crown Court to five counts of rape involving two other women and one charge of sexual assault against a third woman. Those alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2021 and 2022 while he was still at Arsenal.
The Ghana international is scheduled to stand trial on November 2. He joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 in a deal reported to be worth about £45 million and left the London club in June 2025 after 167 appearances.
Partey has earned more than 50 caps for Ghana and could feature for the Black Stars at the World Cup later this year if selected. The latest developments mean he now faces a total of seven rape charges and one sexual assault charge across the separate cases.
