Tamale Youth Remanded for Vandalism Amid Government Transition.

Nine individuals in Tamale have been remanded in custody by the Tamale District Magistrate Court for allegedly vandalizing a Volvo motor grader owned by businessman Wahid Yakubu. The suspects, aged between 20 and 51, reportedly stormed the repair site, claiming the vehicle belonged to the government and should be seized due to the political transition.

The police arrested the suspects and retrieved tools, including gas cylinders, hammers, and chisels, used in the act. Investigations are ongoing to identify additional perpetrators.

In a related incident, three others were remanded for looting furniture from Cotton Company Limited. Widespread looting of government properties, including district offices and warehouses, has been reported in the Northern Region since the change of government.

President-elect John Mahama has urged citizens to maintain peace and respect the rule of law, but tensions persist as youth groups continue their actions.
