The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dissolved the Management Committee of the Black Stars following their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The national team finished last in their qualification group, securing only three points.
In an official statement released on November 21, 2024, the GFA apologized to Ghanaians for the team’s disappointing performance, marking their failure to qualify for AFCON for the first time in 21 years. The GFA also acknowledged the public frustration over the team’s performance.
As part of their efforts to address this setback, the GFA announced that they would meet with Black Stars head coach Otto Addo on November 27, 2024, to discuss his report on the qualifiers. Additionally, a retreat will be held on November 28 to seek input from various stakeholders on how to improve Ghanaian football. The retreat will include representatives from SWAG, media, former players, coaches, and other football professionals.
