The Electoral Commission (EC) has initiated the nationwide distribution of ballot papers for the December 7 general elections, starting today, November 14. This distribution will span five days, commencing in the Greater Accra region and concluding in the Volta and Oti regions.
According to Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations, the ballot papers are being transported under strict security measures. This marks a significant milestone in the EC’s election preparations, following efforts to finalize the voter register, designate polling stations, and train officials.
EC Chairperson Jean Mensa expressed confidence in the accuracy and transparency of the final voters’ register, which was shared with political parties on November 6, fulfilling the Commission’s promise of a fair and peaceful election.
