The Ministry of National Security has extended its ‘See Something, Say Something’ campaign to border communities in the Volta Region to prevent violent extremists from entering the country. Communities such as Ho West, Afadzato South, North and South Dayi, Ho, and Hohoe Municipalities were included in the campaign.
Launched in 2022, the initiative aims to raise public awareness and encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities or movements to the authorities. Campaign leader Akosua Danquah Ntim Sekyere emphasized the importance of vigilance, urging residents to stay alert and collaborate with security agencies to curb violent extremism.
The team engaged with various stakeholders, including traditional leaders and schools, urging them not to harbor foreigners involved in illegal activities and to use the toll-free number 999 to report suspicious behavior. Residents were also reminded to stay calm amidst concerns over instability in neighboring countries, as the government continues efforts to safeguard their communities.
The Ministry also cautioned against prank calls, warning of consequences for those who misuse the reporting system.
