National Security operatives have apprehended twelve Chinese nationals and one Ghanaian in connection with the missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers at the Tema Port. The suspects are linked to two aluminum smelting companies based in Shai Hills, where the operation was carried out on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Investigations revealed that cables believed to belong to the missing consignment were being traced to a facility operated by the Chinese nationals, situated near the Shai Hills Game Reserve. The cables were being melted down to aluminum bars intended for export.
While several individuals have been arrested, one Chinese suspect remains on the run, prompting authorities to launch an active manhunt. The case continues to unfold as investigations progress.
