Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has strongly criticized Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin for accusing National Security operatives of stealing personal belongings during a search at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison. Afenyo-Markin had claimed that items, including jewelry and money belonging to Addison’s wife, were taken by the security personnel during the operation.
At a press conference on March 24, 2025, Dr. Ayine dismissed these accusations as unfounded and disrespectful to law enforcement officers. He warned Afenyo-Markin to refrain from making such baseless claims, stating that if necessary, he would release a recording to defend the integrity of the investigation.
Dr. Ayine also reassured the public that the National Security’s operations were carried out ethically and in the best interests of the nation, stressing that the government was committed to transparency and accountability in all matters.
