Brigadier General Ashong Annan Appointed Commissioner of Customs

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan as the new Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The announcement was made on Sunday, March 23, 2025, through a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President’s spokesperson.

Brig. Gen. Annan, a highly respected and seasoned officer in the Ghana Army, will be responsible for revitalizing the Customs Division and supporting the GRA in achieving its revenue targets. This appointment is part of the government’s broader efforts to stabilize and strengthen the country’s economy.

Before his new role, Brig. Gen. Annan served as the Presidential Security Coordinator, bringing valuable experience in both security and administration. President Mahama also expressed gratitude to the outgoing Commissioner, Brigadier General Ziblim Ayorrogo, for his dedicated service to the nation.

This appointment is seen as a key step in ensuring the effective operation of Ghana’s Customs Division and addressing revenue challenges.
