Music lovers and industry stakeholders in Ghana are eagerly anticipating the announcement of the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominees, which will be unveiled on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The live broadcast will take place on TV3 and be streamed on the official Ghana Music Awards social media channels.
The announcement follows weeks of anticipation, with the call for nominations opening on January 21, 2025. Artists and music groups were invited to submit their works released in 2024. Over 1,500 entries were received from more than 130 artists and groups spanning various genres. A panel of experts has since reviewed and vetted the submissions to ensure only the most deserving nominees make it to the final list.
The focus will be on the prestigious “Big 5” categories, which include:
- Record of the Year
- Album of the Year
- Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year
- New Artiste of the Year
- Artiste of the Year
The final list of nominees for these categories and others will be revealed during the live ceremony.

Nana Ama Nwurueze, a 62-year-old self-styled businesswoman, has been remanded by the Adabraka District Court in Accra for allegedly defrauding another businesswoman, Dorothy Asare, of $13,000.
