A police officer suffered a head injury while attempting to control a violent protest by students of the Savannah College of Education in Daboya. The police, led by the Savannah Regional Commander, had escorted the college principal to address the students regarding their concerns. However, tensions escalated, leading to an attack on the officer, who was later treated and discharged.
A student was arrested but later released on bail with a warning. Despite the principal’s address, students insist on full disclosure of the college’s status and plan to stage a demonstration on March 5. Meanwhile, the principal, along with traditional leaders, is seeking government intervention to resolve the issue.
