Dr. Akosua Abdallah Denies Involvement in Petition Against Kafui Danku, James Gardiner

Renowned Ghanaian actress Dr. Akosua Abdallah has distanced herself from a petition seeking the removal of Kafui Danku and James Gardiner from their newly appointed roles at the National Film Authority (NFA).

In a statement released to myjoyonline.com, Dr. Abdallah made it clear that she was neither consulted nor involved in drafting the petition. The petition, initiated by the Association of Ghanaian Creatives, urged President John Dramani Mahama to revoke the appointments, arguing that the two lacked the necessary expertise for their roles. The petition also suggested alternative candidates, including Dr. Abdallah, Jim Fara Awindor, George Bosompim, Professor Linus Abraham, Akofa Edjeani Asiedu, and Nicole Amarteifio.

Dr. Abdallah is now the fourth person on the list to reject any association with the petition, following similar statements from Awindor, Bosompim, and Abraham. In her statement, she reaffirmed her commitment to artistic excellence and capacity-building within the creative sector, emphasizing that she remains neutral on governance and appointment matters.
