Ghanaian football star Mohammed Kudus has been fined for using his mobile phone while driving near West Ham’s training ground. The 24-year-old was pulled over by police on April 30, 2024, after being spotted handling his smartphone while behind the wheel of his £100,000 Mercedes. Kudus later explained that he was setting up the Sat Nav function on his device at the time.

Initially, the Metropolitan Police issued a fixed penalty, but after Kudus failed to respond, the case was taken to court. Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court found him guilty, resulting in a £220 fine, six penalty points on his license, and additional court costs of £110, along with an £88 victim surcharge.

The case was handled under the Single Justice Procedure, allowing Kudus to avoid an open court appearance. As he prepares for West Ham’s upcoming clash with Brentford, he will be looking to refocus on his football and put the incident behind him.
