
The final funeral rites for the legendary Ghanaian actor Albert Odartei Jackson-Davis are scheduled to take place on Friday, January 24, 2025.
A laying-in-state ceremony will be held on the evening of Thursday, January 23, at his family home in James Town, near Mantse Agbonaa. The burial service will follow the next day at the Cathedral Church of The Most Holy Trinity on John Atta Mills High Street in Accra. A private burial will conclude the proceedings.
Jackson-Davis, known for iconic roles in films such as Heritage Africa, The Storm, and My Very Ghanaian Wedding, passed away in September 2024 after battling an undisclosed illness.
Beyond acting, he contributed to the arts as Deputy Executive Director of PANAFEST in the 1990s, helping to celebrate African culture and heritage.
The actor’s passing marks the end of a significant chapter in Ghana’s creative arts industry, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
