The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has directed Nigerian Air Force (NAF) commanders to intensify precision operations and adopt smarter tactics in ongoing military campaigns across the country.
Aneke issued the directive on Wednesday at a high-level strategy meeting with Air Component Commanders from all operational theatres at the NAF Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the meeting was convened to recalibrate NAF’s operational priorities under the new leadership and strengthen synergy with other security agencies.
Ejodame said the session “provided a platform to harmonize strategies, reinforce inter-service cooperation, and ensure that the Nigerian Air Force remains a decisive instrument of national security and a symbol of hope for citizens.”
Addressing the commanders, Air Marshal Aneke stressed that the changing security landscape requires agility, precision, and intelligence-led operations.
“The days ahead demand agility, precision, and intelligence-driven warfare. We must fly smarter and strike harder — not only to neutralize threats but to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians. Every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism,” he said.
He noted that evolving threats demand full synchronization of air, land, and maritime efforts to achieve mission success, adding that coordination among services is critical to restoring stability in conflict zones.
“Our operations must be intelligence-led, coordinated, and focused. We will continue to work closely with sister services and other security agencies to ensure a united front in the fight against terrorism and criminality,” Aneke added.
The Air Chief reaffirmed his commitment to personnel welfare and capacity building, emphasizing that the Force will continue to invest in innovation, technology, and training to enhance mission effectiveness.
“Every airman and airwoman has a role to play in achieving our collective vision. I will ensure you are equipped, trained, and motivated to deliver results,” he assured.
He also reiterated that the Air Force remains aligned with the Federal Government’s security goals while upholding professionalism and accountability in all operations.
“We will apply decisive force against those who threaten our nation, with discipline, humanity, and professionalism. The Nigerian people, government, and international partners expect nothing less from us,” he said.
Aneke urged the commanders to translate strategy into measurable results and sustain operational momentum across all fronts.
“The safety and confidence of our citizens are our mission success indicators. Nigeria is counting on us, and we will not fail,” he declared.
Air Commodore Ejodame said the engagement reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to inter-agency collaboration, troop morale, and international confidence in Nigeria’s counterterrorism campaign.
