10 Key Players W

As the summer transfer window enters its final weeks, several high-profile names remain at the center of speculation. While some clubs have strengthened early, others are preparing late pushes that could reshape their squads. Here are 10 players whose futures could be decided before the deadline:

Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)
Despite Newcastle’s insistence that Isak is not for sale, the striker has signaled his desire to leave after three seasons. Liverpool are ready to test Newcastle’s resolve with a bid reportedly as high as £120m, while Arsenal remain interested but less urgent due to their pursuit of Viktor Gyökeres. Losing Isak would be a huge blow to Eddie Howe’s Champions League plans.

Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea)
Chelsea maintain that Jackson is staying, yet his mixed form and disciplinary issues last season mean the club could cash in if the right bid arrives. With new arrivals João Pedro and Liam Delap, United and other suitors may be tempted before deadline day.

Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United)
Initially not for sale, Garnacho’s fallout with coach Ruben Amorim has changed the picture. At just 21, the winger retains strong market value, with Chelsea monitoring closely. United are open to offers, though they expect a significant fee.

Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea)
Injuries and inconsistent form have kept Nkunku on the fringes just a year after joining. Chelsea are open to selling at a reduced price—down from £65m to the low £40m range. Clubs in Italy and Germany are interested.

Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace)
Palace resisted bids for Guéhi last summer, but with just one year left on his contract, the pressure is on. Liverpool and Newcastle are keen, and Palace must now choose between selling or risking losing him for free in 2026.

Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace)
Eze has drawn interest from both Tottenham and Arsenal, who are preparing bids. With Palace also at risk of losing Guéhi, the club faces a difficult decision. A fee of around £60m could force their hand.

Nathan Collins (Brentford)
Collins impressed at Brentford last season, attracting interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, and Spurs. Brentford are reluctant to sell this late in the window, but a major offer could change that.

Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG)
Though still PSG’s first-choice goalkeeper, Donnarumma has been linked with a Premier League move. Manchester City and Chelsea have both explored the possibility, with City viewing him as a potential successor to Ederson.

Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa)
Douglas Luiz could be one of the late movers. Juventus explored a deal earlier in the summer, while Nottingham Forest are now showing interest, though his wages remain an obstacle. Villa may consider a sale if their valuation is met.

Jakub Kiwior (Arsenal)
AC Milan and Roma are interested in the Polish defender. Arsenal are willing to let him go if it allows them to bring in a more experienced option. Regular minutes elsewhere could benefit his development.

Other Players to Watch
Leandro Trossard (Arsenal), Rodrigo (Leeds United), and Yoane Wissa (Brentford) are not officially on the market but could still leave if the right opportunity arises.

Relief for ADC, AP as Appeal Court stops deregistration order

Several opposition political parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Accord Party (AP), have secured temporary relief after the Court of Appeal halted the enforcement of a Federal High Court judgment ordering their deregistration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Earlier in the week, Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered INEC to deregister ADC, Accord, Action Alliance (AA), Action Peoples Party (APP) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for failing to meet the constitutional thresholds required to remain on the register of political parties. The trial court held that the parties breached Section 225A of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which empowers INEC to deregister political parties that fail to win any elective seat or secure at least 25 per cent of the votes in relevant elections at federal, state or local government […]

Abdulsalami told him to go home, thank God he was still alive after four years of detention, and forget about becoming President. During the same meeting, Abdulsalami also talked Obasanjo out of filing a lawsuit against the Federal Government over his wrongful imprisonment, warning him that court processes are uncertain. Instead, Abdulsalami offered to explore compensation for the collapse of Obasanjo's business during his years in detention, and Obasanjo agreed not to pursue litigation. Abdulsalami described the encounter as forthright, stating that Obasanjo agreed to think about […]
