Detty December Fest in Lagos reached a new high when Afrobeats star Wizkid made a surprise appearance during American rapper Gunna’s headline set, sending fans into a frenzy. The crowd at Ilubirin, Ikoyi, erupted as Wizkid walked on stage unannounced, dressed in all black to match Gunna’s look.
The duo performed their collaboration “Forever Be Mine” from Gunna’s 2025 album The Last Wun, marking one of the night’s biggest moments and showcasing the strength of US–Afrobeats crossover culture. It was their latest live rendition of the track, which they first performed together at Afro+ Fest in Washington, D.C., in September 2025.
Earlier performances from Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea and Nigerian singer Fave had already warmed up the crowd before Gunna took the stage. Clips of Wizkid’s surprise cameo quickly went viral across X, Instagram and TikTok, with fans hailing the set as one of Detty December’s standout highlights.
