Lomé, April 14, 2025 – The Togolese Republic has officially unveiled its national pavilion at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, marking a significant moment in the country’s international presence. The inauguration ceremony, attended by government officials and diplomatic representatives, showcased Togo’s unique blend of cultural heritage and forward-looking development vision.
A Multisensory Cultural Experience
Designed by renowned Togolese architect Kossi Akakpo, the 800-square-meter pavilion takes visitors on an immersive journey through:
- Traditional voodoo art installations
- Interactive displays of Togo’s diverse ecosystems
- A virtual reality tour of historic slave trade sites
- Contemporary fashion and music exhibits
Economic Ambitions Take Center Stage
The pavilion dedicates 40% of its space to highlighting Togo’s economic transformation, featuring:
- The “Lomé Digital” initiative – Africa’s fastest-growing tech hub
- Agricultural innovations including climate-resistant crop developments
- Renewable energy projects powering rural communities
- The new deep-water port positioning Togo as West Africa’s trade gateway
“Today, we’re not just displaying our culture – we’re presenting investment-ready opportunities,” declared Trade Minister Kodjo Adedze during the opening ceremony.
