President Tinubu Resumes Duties After Extended Lagos Stay
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Tuesday , concluding his extended stay in Lagos , where he observed the Eid-al-Adha festival and attended the 50th anniversary celebrations of ECOWAS .
The president arrived in Lagos on May 27 for the regional event and spent several days in the city, engaging with religious leaders, political allies, and state officials.
He left Lagos on Tuesday morning, accompanied by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu , as seen in a video shared by presidential social media aide Dada Olusegun .
A Productive Holiday and Regional Engagement
Tinubu’s time in Lagos was not just about religious observance—it also included high-level meetings and strategic engagements tied to both national and regional priorities.
His presence at the ECOWAS anniversary reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to West African unity and economic cooperation , while his Sallah prayers highlighted the administration’s respect for religious traditions and public engagement .
“This trip reflects our leadership’s dedication to faith, diplomacy, and national progress,” said a source close to the presidency.

A short video released by Dada Olusegun , the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, captured the moment Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu made their way to the airport.
The clip gave followers a rare glimpse into the presidential entourage , underscoring the strong relationship between the federal government and Lagos State leadership.
Sanwo-Olu was among several top figures who welcomed Tinubu during his visit and bid him farewell ahead of his return to the capital.

Back in Abuja, Tinubu is expected to resume official duties, including cabinet meetings and policy reviews related to the 2025 budget implementation , security strategy , and ongoing economic reforms .
