The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of four individuals in connection with the murder of mobile money vendor Christopher Ahordo in Aflao, Volta Region. This development follows a coordinated operation aimed at bringing the perpetrators to justice.

On April 28, 2025, around 6:15 p.m., approximately five armed men attacked and fatally shot mobile money vendor Christopher Ahordo, also known as “Colombo,” at Gbagblakope near the Diamond Cement factory in Aflao. The assailants reportedly fled with a bag suspected to contain cash.

Arrest of Suspects

During a joint intelligence-led operation on May 10, 2025, the Ghana Police Service apprehended four suspects:

  • Michael Sewornu, 34
  • Korku Agboada, 43
  • Atsu Agbagla, 36
  • Utsuku Onyeso, 22, a Nigerian national

The operation involved the Regional Police Intelligence Department, the SWAT Unit, the Operation Motherland Taskforce, and a local neighborhood watch group known as ‘ACTION NOW.’
