PDP Condemns Tinubu’s Silence on Benue Killings
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu over his response to the recent killings in Benue State .
In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologungaba , the party said the violence represents a failure of leadership under the APC government.
“It’s painful to see videos of innocent Nigerians being killed while the President acts like everything is fine.”
The PDP accused Tinubu of being too slow and unresponsive to rising insecurity across the country.
They said the attackers feel bold because the federal government shows no urgency or strong leadership.
“Tinubu Has Failed as Commander-in-Chief” – PDP
The PDP said Tinubu has not shown the will or strength needed from a national leader during times of crisis.
“Instead of leading, he hides behind press statements and political games.”
The party claimed that over 600,000 people have died from violence in the last two years alone.
It urged the President to visit Benue immediately and take real steps to stop the bloodshed.
Despite its criticism, the PDP praised the efforts of security forces who continue to serve despite limited support from the top.
Atiku: “Benue Cannot Keep Bleeding in Silence”
Former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar also spoke out.
He called the situation in Benue a national emergency and said:
“Families keep burying their loved ones. Villages are destroyed. People live in fear. And leaders just watch.”
Atiku said the people of Benue only want peace and safety.
“They want to sleep without fear. They want to farm without being attacked. But what do they get? Tear gas. Brutality. Disrespect.”
He called it a betrayal for security forces to attack protesters instead of protecting them.
“That is not leadership. That is cruelty.”
Leaders Must Act Now, Atiku Warns
Atiku urged all levels of government to stop making excuses and start offering real help.
“Stop giving speeches and start solving problems.”
He said Nigeria cannot afford more silence or delay.
“From Plateau to Kaduna, Taraba to Zamfara—Nigerians are crying out. Listen to them before it’s too late.”
He added:
“History will judge those who chose politics over people. The time to act is now.”
