NNPP Leader Urges Voters To Reject Failed Politicians in 2027
A top New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader in the South-West , Ambassador Olufemi Oguntoyinbo , has called on Nigerians to reject parties and politicians who failed to keep their electoral promises after the 2023 general elections.
Speaking in a statement released on Sunday, Oguntoyinbo said:
“As we approach the 2027 polls, citizens must review what each party and leader promised—and what they actually delivered.”
He urged voters to use this as a guide when choosing leaders next year.
“APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda Has Not Delivered” – Oguntoyinbo
Oguntoyinbo directly criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) , which ran on the platform of the Renewed Hope Agenda during the last election.
“The reality is that life has become unbearable for most Nigerians,” he said.
He pointed out that many citizens are now living in poverty , with wages failing to cover basic needs.
“Workers can no longer make ends meet. The poor cannot breathe anymore.”
He also slammed the government over the removal of fuel subsidies without adequate support systems.
“There was no palliative, no relief, no plan—just pain.”
He added that the policy led to a sharp rise in fuel prices, which triggered inflation and further devalued the Naira.
“It’s shameful how much lower our currency has fallen compared to the CFA used by neighboring countries.”
Time to Hold Politicians Accountable – Oguntoyinbo
The diplomat-turned-political leader warned that it’s time to stop voting based on campaign slogans alone.
“Don’t just vote for noise and flags. Vote for results.”
He reminded Nigerians that in 2023, many parties made bold claims about turning the economy around.
“But today, people are worse off than before.”
He urged the electorate to take responsibility for holding leaders accountable.
“If you don’t reward performance, you must punish failure at the ballot box.”
