Buhari’s Remains To Land in Katsina Today – Radda
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has confirmed that former President Muhammadu Buhari’s remains will arrive in Nigeria today, Tuesday, July 15, 2025 , at 12:00 noon , at the Sani Abacha International Airport in Katsina .
After arrival, the late president’s body will be taken to his hometown, Daura , for burial by 2:00 p.m.
This follows consultations between the government and members of the Buhari family who were with him in London , where he passed away yesterday.
“Let Us Bid Him A Final Respectful Farewell” – Radda
Governor Radda said the state government is coordinating with federal authorities and the Buhari family to ensure a dignified and orderly farewell for the former head of state.
He expressed deep sympathy to the Buhari family and all Nigerians mourning the loss:
“We pray Almighty Allah grants his soul eternal rest.”
He also extended condolences to President Bola Tinubu , saying:
“May Allah give us strength to bear this great loss.”
Radda urged citizens to conduct themselves peacefully during the burial events and support security agencies in maintaining decorum.
Burial Will Happen in Daura Amid National Mourning
Although Buhari served as president of Nigeria for eight years, his final rites will take place in Daura, Katsina State , where he was born and where his roots remain strong.
The governor said arrangements are already in place to manage the event properly, with officials expecting dignitaries from across the country and beyond.
Security personnel have begun mobilising to maintain order and protect mourners expected to gather in large numbers.

Police investigate alleged shooting of comedian Broda Shaggi
