Baba Sadiq and Ebi Bright Lose Parliamentary Seats After Re-Collation.

Two prominent figures in Ghana’s creative industry, Baba Sadiq and actress Ebi Bright, will not make it to Parliament following the Electoral Commission’s re-collation of disputed parliamentary results.

Baba Sadiq, who was initially declared winner of the Okaikoi Central seat with 15,383 votes, lost to incumbent MP Patrick Yaw Boamah (NPP), who retained his seat with 21,099 votes against Sadiq’s 19,368.

Similarly, Ebi Bright, previously declared winner of the Tema Central seat with a narrow margin of 118 votes, fell short after re-collation. NPP’s Charles Forson emerged victorious with 18,870 votes, surpassing Bright’s 18,815.

The re-collation, ordered by the Accra High Court, was conducted amidst tight security and affected nine constituencies, including Dome-Kwabenya, Obuasi East, and Techiman South. Both Baba Sadiq and Ebi Bright have expressed concerns about the process, with Sadiq accusing the EC of malpractice.
