A significant milestone was celebrated in the Northern Region as 150 teenage mothers graduated from a six-month vocational skills training program under Phase II of the Skills for Future Project.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Girls Advocacy Network with support from the KGL Foundation, trained the young mothers in hairdressing, makeup, soap making, and beaded product creation. Participants hailed from Tamale Metropolis, Sagnarigu Municipal, and Tolon District.
At the graduation ceremony, the Chief of Gumanayili commended the program for empowering women economically and providing starter toolkits for their entrepreneurial journeys.
Kamal Deen Habib, Executive Director of the Girls Advocacy Network, emphasized the project’s broader mission of fostering hope and economic independence for vulnerable groups. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, with one graduate, Ms. Rafia, pledging to make good use of her training to uplift her life and that of her family.
