The National Sports Authority (NSA) has called for tenders to refurbish football pitches across Ghana, aiming to bring them in line with FIFA standards. This initiative is part of the NSA’s commitment to improving sports infrastructure and ensuring optimal playing conditions for athletes.
In a statement released on December 16, 2024, the NSA outlined that the project would be funded by its budgetary allocation, focusing on reducing injury risks and enhancing performance. This comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) had earlier banned Ghana from using Baba Yara Stadium, although the decision was later reversed.
The refurbishment will involve a complete overhaul of the country’s national stadia, with a Dutch-based company assessing the pitch conditions and recommending reconditioning.
Interested bidders can access the tender documents via the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (e-GP) portal or from the NSA office, with submissions due by January 6, 2025.
