Bawumia Concedes Defeat, Calls for Optimism in NPP’s Future.

The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has officially conceded defeat to former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ghana’s 2024 presidential election. Speaking at a media briefing, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged that internal party collation of election results confirmed Mahama’s decisive victory.

While expressing disappointment, Dr. Bawumia urged party members to remain hopeful and focus on future opportunities. “We may have lost the battle but not the war,” he remarked. He thanked his family, President Akufo-Addo, his running mate, party executives, and Ghanaians for their support, emphasizing the importance of learning from this experience to rebuild.

He also commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for conducting a transparent election and praised the security services and media for their contributions to a peaceful process.
